The arrested included Lekera Evans, 32; Yazelynn Ramos, 21; Malik Carter, 20; Jadyn Sebro, 18; Aliyah Alfonso, 18; and Fareed Carter, 18. Charges among them ranged from trespassing to disorderly conduct, with Evans facing additional charges for resisting an officer without violence.
Sheriff Chad Chronister expressed his vehement disapproval of the night’s events. “I am outraged by the violent and disruptive behavior that targeted hard-working people and businesses and created harm, fear, and chaos in our community,” he stated. “Let me make this unequivocally clear: this violent and destructive behavior will never, under any circumstances, be tolerated in Hillsborough County.”
The sheriff also highlighted the unsafe conditions faced by law enforcement officers responding to the riot. “When responding to a scene as hectic as this, our deputies must account for potential danger from any direction,” Chronister explained. “As seen in the horrifying footage, these individuals had no regard for safety, compelling our deputies to intervene professionally and swiftly to defuse the situation.”
